Outreach
Our team is committed to sharing project outcomes and lessons learned to encourage community composting beyond the Central Valley.
Project Introduction Video
Composting is a powerful and scalable climate mitigation strategy. Diverting organic material, like food waste, from landfills reduces methane emissions, a potent greenhouse gas driving global climate change.

Through localized, community composting we can reduce food and other waste and at the same time create a product that can be used in gardens and farms across the San Joaquin Valley.
UC Merced has partnered with three local non-profit organizations to start this process!
