Household Food Waste
Generation Study

Quantifying our region's food waste is important for local composting and waste reduction efforts. California's waste diversion law, SB 1383, mandates that we divert 75% of organic material from landfills by 2025. However, regions throughout California, including the San Joaquin Valley, are facing challenges in implementing this ambitious climate goal.

Join us in understanding how much food waste is generated at the household scale to foster closed-loop food systems and resilient SJV communities!
